Good news for all actor and producer Salman Khan fans!
Giving a clean chit to Salman Khan in the Jodhpur black buck and chinkara poaching cases, Rajasthan high court has acquitted him, overturning a lower court verdict in the 17-year-old cases.
The actor had challenged the lower court's orders that had handed him one and five years' imprisonment in the two cases. The high court on May 13 reserved the decision after completing the hearing in the matter.
The verdict will come as a huge relief to the actor, whose latest film 'Sultan' is running successfully across the country.
The actor had spent eight days in the Jodhpur central jail in 2006 after being found guilty. Chinkaras, or Indian gazelles, are a protected species and hunting them is banned. Khan and seven others were accused of killing a blackbuck and a chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while they were shooting for director and producer Sooraj Barjatya's film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.
